How on-line tutoring works:

Marin County Residents: All subjects listed in the tutoring page.

Scheduling is done either on-line, by e-mail or by phone. Please indicate if the student wishes on line or in office tutoring. Click the join my vRoom icon on www.chemPlay.com. A call will be made 15 minutes prior to the session to remind the student to log on and the session begins.

Necessary homework will be up-loaded in the documents page on www.chemplay.com a week prior to the next session. On line sessions can be used to discuss issues arising from homework. We suggest alternating on line vs. office visits but the final logistics will have to be worked out between the students and the tutor based upon the nature of the subject.

Non Marin County Residents: USA and International

Chemistry, Physics, SAT-IIc Math, SAT Reasoning, Essay writing, application essays, Basic Math, pre-Algebra, Algebra, Pre-calculus, Grammar, writing mechanics.

All scheduling is on California Pacific Time Zone. All payment in US dollars.

Each session is one hour. Students are encouraged to call 415-497-1326 or contact via email to check system requirement and to finalize student’s needs. Scheduling will require pre-payment. To schedule please visit www.chemplay.com and click on “schedule”. Click on an open slot and fill out the form. A confirmation will be sent to you via e-mail.

A tutor will contact you two days prior to the scheduled appointment. Fifteen minutes before the session the tutor will call the student to remind student to turn on the computer and on line sessions begin. When scheduling please indicate subject and topic. Any diagnostic test will be uploaded in the documents page www.chemplay.com and student will download the assigned work and have the work completed before the next session.

Rates:

Our rates will depend on the subject and whether you come to the office or opt for on-line tutoring or at your house. The rates range from $75.00/hr to $110.00/hr. $120.00 for SAT subject and SAT reasoning evaluation. $90.00 SSAT evaluation.

Group sessions are offered to groups of three to four students both on-line and in office. On-line students must have a head phone to participate in group session or echo cancelling microphone. Rates based upon the number in the group. Call 415-497-1326 to inquire.

Tutors:

We do not use high school or college students as primary tutors. Our tutors have graduate degrees with substantial industry experience and are well qualified to relate the school curriculum to its application in industry.

Privacy:

ChemPlay Tutoring center takes your privacy seriously. We know you trust us to help you with your homework and we want you to know that you can trust us with your personal information. Because we are licensed for five students during a session there are other students who may choose to remain in the office. They can remain in their cubicle for up to half an hour. Students who remain in the office must be quiet and respectful to those who are in session with a tutor. Your tutor will take all the necessary precautions to ensure that your learning environment is optimal for your learning style.

Payment:

On-line students must pay on-line two days before the session is to begin. Students who prefer to visit us in our office have the option of paying in advance on a monthly basis or pay for each session at the time of service.

Location:

• In office: Weekends and after 7:00am on weekdays.
• Fairfax library: Weekdays 3:30 pm to 6:00pm (open to middle and primary school students only).
• Free period in school: Marin Academy, San Domenico, The Branson School.
• In Student’s Home: Physics and Calculus students only. Evenings and weekends.

Cancellation/Rescheduling:

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. All cancellations must be rescheduled within 15 days.
